Default Audio Interface for Acoustic Guitar

Hello folks, i'm an absolute newbie. Have a acoustic guitar fitted with the passive K&K Pure Western Mini Pickup.
I would like to plug my guiter into the computer and headphones, am just looking for a basic and simple set up on the budget. so far i've come up with

-Behringer Guitar Link UCG102 BEHRINGER: UCG102

-M-Audio Fast Track M-AUDIO - Fast Track - Record Guitar and Vocals on Your Computer

Am i going in the rigth direction in terms of tools/equipment or should i get something else?

Help please

I'd go with the Fast Track.
the original Fast Track was terrible, the new one looks like it's much better, and it comes with Pro Tools Essential.

Wow, Behringer was able to break the price barrier on interfaces now. I'm willing to bet they have Laptops for under $100 next on thier list of things to offer.

You picked the right tool, an audio interface with built in preamps, but go for brands from M-audio, Presonus, Focusrite, and a few others. A lot of people are happy with the Presonus USB Audiobox too.

Even if the Behringer isn't the best sounding interface, holy crap, they're selling a usb interface that comes with recording and guitar sim software for $60.

I've owned Behringer gear over the years and have liked some of it and I'm impressed by their ability to manufacture entry level gear at a really low cost.

I've modded several units and when examining the internals have noticed their own series of tubes, opamps and other components.
They also like to reverse engineer their competitor's products and reproduce the designs in a budget version.

Doing good so far. Research all the options and alternatives. Look at several interfaces. Read reviews.

Do you want top quality , lowest cost, somethign in the middle.

Personally, for acoustic , and low cost to start out with, I would use a microphone (mxl 991 or behringer c2) into an interface (emu0404, ua25ex, similar ones - compare specs in custom chart at kellys computer and music web site selection guide).

Or pay more and do better.

Dont know that pickup but I used one many many years ago and the bandwidth and flatness left a lot to be desired. Hopefully they have improved by now , but as good as a mike???
