Default Analog mixer, interfaces, what I need...?

Hey,

So I bought the tapco 260fx 12 channel analog mixer

TAPCO - Audio Gear with Vibe

And made the mistake of buying the cheapest interface around

COMPUTER BASED RECORDING - AUDIO/MIDI INTERFACES - U-CONTROL UCA202 : Ultra low-latency 2 In/2 Out USB/Audio Interface with Digital Output

thinking I can accomplish what I want to do..

plug in All my mics to my mixer then record the separate channels to separate tracks on a multitrack recording software...

Also be able to Playback the recorded tracks (separate) to the separate channels on the analog mixer...and Mix it.

Be able to playback the peviously recorded music and record/fine tune everything on analog.
on the spot effects changes, cut out channels(w/faders), EQ changes.
basic techniques for mastering and dub music.

Ive looked into various things like other mixers with built in firewire...
but some are real expensive like the Onyx from mackie..because you have to buy the Firewire card separate.. like 400 bucks.

But ive looked at the Alesis multimix,
the Zed14, and one from phonic.

But nothing really says anything to clear.

So i need some help

Either a whole new setup to do what I mentioned or what I need so i can keep my tapco.

thanks.

This is not an interface. In order to record to muliple tracks you will need to spend some cash on a milti track sound card or audio interface. For help with what you need go here
Home Recording Soundcard Wizard / Audio Interface Search Tool
I have spent thousands on my studio to be able to record 24 tracks simultantiously. I still need some more things. Probably about $2,000 more and I will be recording. Hope this gives you an I dea what it costs. It is amazing what you can do 2 tracks at a time though. It all depends on what you want to do.

Alright,
I went through the wizard

and it gave me a list of Mixers and also interfaces.

So to be able to record separate channels to separate tracks live.
And to be able playback to mix analog.

I'd Need either the Alesis multimix
MultiMix 12 FireWire

Or keep my mixer
TAPCO - Audio Gear with Vibe

And buy one of these...

Presonus Firepod
TASCAM FW-1804
Echo Layla3G
Echo AudioFire8
Mackie Onyx 400F
Echo AudioFire12
PreSonus FireStudio
Digidesign Digi 003 Rack
Digidesign Digi 002R
M-Audio ProjectMix IO
Digidesign Digi 003

And connect my analog mixer with 1/4" patch cables
Then the interface to my laptop via firewire cable?

Does this set up mean I can record my 8 separate channel to 8 separate tracks on the recording software?
Also play what was recorded and mix/master/dub analog?

Ive been reading various reviews on the Alesis multimix And seen pros and cons about it.

It would be cheaper to sell my mixer and then buy the Alesis.

But based on some reviews it would be best to keep my mixer and just buy the right interface.

But which set up is right for what I want to do?

what about the Alesis multimix 12 firewire.
its says that it is ad/da,
it has the right amount of channels that I need,
Its just that nothing is to clear.
Like with the yamaha n series I watched the videos and it shows you everything about it...and you can record live analog to digital and mix back analog...
Is it the same thing with Alesis multimix?

and I found a good deal on it.
But is it what I need to do what I mentioned?
