Oh, I thought you meant power chords on a guitar! Duh! Power chords are different on a guitar. I-V standard (V-Power Chord; however inverted I-IV (Inverted IV-Power Chord) was made famous in Smoke on the Water. Sorry it's Friday afternoon; got bored!

If the wire gauge is the same, then yes, they are equivalent.
