Default Are all power cords the same

Hey guys pretty simple one here actually,

To start ,over the years iv collected a pile of equiptment. On almost every piece there is a removable power cord. Ive heard them called mains and I think IEC cables but whatever.

Of course after tearing my gear down and setting it up 100,000 times ive mixed up the power cords. I ve got a good 40 of them.

I think i already know the answer to this one but just wanted to be sure, are all of these cords the same? I realize that everything will probably operate with any cord, but do any of them deliver different current/amps/volts/milliamp/or whatever?

If the answer is a surprising NO, then what do i need to look out for when matching the right cords to the right equiptment.

Thanks for the read.

venuestudio will become famous soon enough

The are all the same. Once you get to the point where the equipment draws a crap load of current they are required to put a permanent power cord on the unit.

Oh, I thought you meant power chords on a guitar! Duh!

Power chords are different on a guitar. I-V standard (V-Power Chord; however inverted I-IV (Inverted IV-Power Chord) was made famous in Smoke on the Water.

Sorry it's Friday afternoon; got bored!

If the wire gauge is the same, then yes, they are equivalent.

If you have a few bucks burning a hole in your pocket: Dedicated Audio - Audience Au24 powerChord - power cord

That's for the 3 footer, scroll down and select a longer length for a real good laugh.

There's no way that can be serious. My favorite is this one "Widest possible bandwidth for instantaneous response to the program signal." You mean all the way up to 60Hz? That's pretty impressive. I must buy one now.
