Default Adding Firewire / IEEE 1394 To Laptop

Quote:
I have a powerful PC Acer 5536g laptop. dosn't have a fire wire or M-lan plug in it....only 4 USB ports...........how do I get fire wire/or M-lan into this computer? I'm running Cubase studio 4 with a Yamaha 01X comming in on M-lan on my other computer, but want to take the PC laptop with a more compact interface up to Samoa.
Thanks
Steve

Hey Steve,

The solution is to get a PCMIA card (assuming your laptop has one...I think they all pretty much do) to add Firewire.

Newegg.com - pcmia ieee

If memory serves me, although the Aspire 5536G is a kickass little machine, I dont believe it comes with any PCMCIA slot.

I know it does have a 5 in 1 card reader but I doubt a PCMCIA slot is part of that.
