Default 16/48k into 24/48k?

I bought a used sound module (haven't got it yet) that has an optical S/Pdif out running at 16/48k.

I work in 24/48k. Will I be able to use the digital connection on my setup?

SK48 and cubase SX3.

Thanks

dunno
got anything to connect to the spdif out to?

what inputs does the box accept?
you may need to downrez to 16 before it goes into the box unless it will convert down to the 16/48

will the software handle the differences?
You may need to do a stand alone coversion.

Converting 16/48 to 24/48 really won't buy you much if anything.
Might lose a little less during processing buy you still basically have a 16bit signal.

Yes just wondering if anyone has run into this, I'm going to try it when I get it, I was guessing it would be at a lower volume, or not accept it at all.

You are going to run into possible issues with the Wordlength. It may or may not be an issue, but I know I can switch from 16 bit to 24 bit on my Myteks on the front of the panel and I assume this is part of the Wordclock (maybe not).

Hooked it up and it sounded fine.

I was getting a flashing error thing in the TCnear software mixer. That stopped when I made the module the sync master.

I was worried because the SK48 has all that jitter this and jitter that so I didn't want this old korg module for my clock master but that's two different things. There's two settings in the TCcontrol panel, one for sync master and one for clock master.

So that was cool, still don't know what's happening with only being 16bits in a 24bit system but when I actually print a wave sep of the synth it's with a UAD LA2A on the bus so it would be 24bits after running through that for sure.

So it works and sounds good so I'm set.
