Default 10" Subwoofer Killer deal

Howdy all,

I'm always reluctant to post a thread to a "Deal" but this one seems to good to pass up. If I didn't already have a sub, I'd jump on this.

That is a great deal. All the time people want to buy a sub that "matches" their nearfields. It's highly unnecessary. This one looks fine.

Hell yeah!
Just remember that in some cases a subwoofer causes more problems than it fixes in monitor system.
Checklist before investing in a sub like this:
1. True reference monitors and not stereos with bass bost or artificial color added.
2. Large enough room, smaller rooms or cube rooms don;t work well with subs.
3. At least some acoustic treatment like bass traps, broadband absorbers, or first reflection treatment.

String good points.

I have a very small room treated pretty well and still only use my Sub to check FQ. I never mix with it on. When I'm setting up any instrument or vox for recording I'll always record a minute or so then play it back with my sub kicked WAY in. I can always determine if there is any funky sub stuff being recorded this way. I can adjust mic placement or performance technique accordingly.

Thanks for the checklist

If you're patient you might find a used Onkyo 10" for 30-50 bucks on eBay.
I agree with 7 about not assuming a sub is a out-of-the-box cure-all.
