Default Yamaha AW16G - pads and loops

Hi folks, Im just wondering how to record a "pad" performance, using samples from the drum library.I have (I think )followed the instructions as per manual but no joy.Also , how to get samples to loop.Any help much appreciated,cheers, Vince
