I'm using a Olympus WS-210S digital recorder -- WS-210S -- to record some voice work. It's a stereo recorder. I'm also using a Radio Shack hands-free tie-clip microphone -- Hands-Free Tie-Clip Omnidirectional Electret - RadioShack.com -- plugged into the microphone jack of the digital recorder. I'm thinking this may be a mono microphone. After recording, the resulting audio is in mono only. How do I fix this? Is there an adapter I can put between the microphone and the recorder that will record input from the microphone in stereo? |

To record in stereo you'll need two microphones. Normally when you plug in an external mike it disables the internal ones. So you'll need a stereo to L/R splitter. Something like a stereo mini phone plug to two mono mini phone jacks. Something like this thing... 1/8" Dual Mono Jack to 1/8" Stereo Plug Y-Adapter - RadioShack.com |

Would it be better to go with a stereo tie clip microphone instead? Radio Shack doesn't seem to have one, but I found a Sony -- Sony ECM-CS10 Tie Clip Stereo Microphone ECMCS10 -- and a Olympus -- Olympus ME-51S Stereo Tie Clip Microphone -- on a quick Google
