Newbie to Recording - need help BR 600

Hello All,

I've been trying to record my husband's band on a Boss Digital Recorder Model BR-600. I'm using the onboard mics. Here's my problem ... approximately 10 seconds into recording each song, it displays the error message "drive full". I've been quickly hitting enter, play and record to restart the system and that works, but then there is the tell tale sign on each recording that there was an interruption. Is this a malfunction, a setting somewhere, or ???

Also, on my initial recordings I just recorded the entire practice session versus recording song by song. I want to physically delete several of the songs to reclaim space on the memory card, but it apparently just erases the content versus removing the song (and creating more space). How do I delete the "dead space".

Any help you can offer would be most appreciated.
