Question Guitar Fluctuation

I've been having issues with this weird fluttery sound that comes from some of my tracks (usually from the right channel) which happens mostly during quiet and heavy reverbed segments of a song. What can I do to eliminate this? It really kills the mood of the song when I start hearing it.

hardware? software? recording techniques? instruments? Is there any information at all that you want to share with us? It's pretty hard to hazard a guess knowing nothing about what you are doing.

Haha, sorry about that. I guess I was hoping to get lucky with someone having a straight forward solution.

I record with an AKG2200S mic and a Shure AXS 3 mic (I still can't tell the difference of the quality of sound both records), TB101 pre-amp and a br-1600 (export tracks via USB). After the tracks are exported, I put it all in cool edit pro 2.1 and put a graphic EQ on everything, usually cutting below 80hz and above 16khz (which I probably wouldn't have to do if I learned how to use the pre-amp properly huh? hah).

I have a very outdated sound card, but I don't want to get a new one unless I know it's the problem. I play with a jackson soloist through a marshall avt50 half-stack which I mic and bass I do direct in, but I don't feel like it's a problem with my instruments/amp.

(Also, if you couldn't already tell from the gear I'm using, I've had 0 formal training on how to record.)

Thanks for the info. I moved the thread to standalone recorders.

Well, it's hard for me to know what is should sound like but if it only happens in heavily reverbed sections it could be the reverb, no? Maybe you could try recording without the Boss reverb and add some in Cool Edit Pro? I don't think it would be your soundcard since you are only using it for monitoring.

As a side note, did you get the free update from Boss?

If you check the sample clips with ear phones or play it loud, the flutter noise is more present. But I do use cool edit for the reverbed sections, one thing I thought it might be is the lows or the mids might be to high(?)

I did not get the update from Boss.. thanks for the heads up on that, do I get it from there website?
