Re: BR600 Card Error
Hiya Gents,
I've recently obtained a BR 600 and recorded only 1 song with it so I don't know alot.
But, I've seen a few posts around the Internet regarding card-error problems. (People buy new cards that don't work with the unit, random card-error issues, etc).
Here's a couple of thoughts.
Contained within the documentation, in the box, with my new BR 600 was a stand-alone sheet of paper that lists about 40 SD Flash cards (of different memory sizes) that Roland/Boss is saying they've tested and verified they work successfully with the BR 600.
I found one of the 1 GB cards listed on this sheet (on Ebay) and picked it up for $24 clams. Hopefully it will work well.
Here is another thought. In the manual, they clearly state that you MUST turn the power off when disconnecting and/or reconnecting any input souce (mic cable, guitar cord, line-in, etc). I'm wondering if people might not be powering down their unit when switching inputs (while in the process of creating tracks). And, could this be the cause of some of the card-error issues (?).
* Anyway, I'm hoping I avoid the dreaded card-errors when I begin using my system more down the road.
Let us know what happens with your situation.
