Default Boss FDR-1 Fender Deluxe Reverb Reviews

Boss FDR-1 Fender Deluxe Reverb Description
The FDR-1 effects pedal is based on the Fender 1965-era Deluxe Reverb — a coveted tube amp known for its natural touch response and distinctive, snappy, overdriven sound. In conjunction with Fender, BOSS designed this stompbox to re-create that legendary tone. Features include the same controls found on the original Deluxe Reverb: Level, Gain, Treble, Bass, Vibrato, and Reverb. The FDR-1 pedal also functions perfectly as a pre-gain pedal placed before an already overdriven amp to add the tone character of the Deluxe Reverb.

Has anyone used this yet? On the surface it sounds like a good idea to get the classic Fender reverb sound, but many of the reviews on some of the online music stores "stomped" (okay, bad pun) on this pretty bad. Most say the reverb is nowhere near realistic or faithful to a Fender Twin Reverb.

It's seems like a nice tool to have in the studio without paying $1200 for a real Fender Twin Reverb (although I've always wanted to own one of these babies since I was 9).

I owned this pedal for about a month ...a gift from a good friend ....I used it for direct recording and live through the front end of a small system....no guitar amp . I found it to be less than the sum of its parts . The tremolo worked well but was a hassle to set up properly , the reverb was ...well ..useless , in my opinion , and the sound itself was good but didn't offer much variation . I'm guessing that wasn't the intention of the designers behind this one. It is also overpriced , I think .....nearly 200 Canadian new

Solid info, I'm still looking for a really quality reverb pedal.

TonyB: Still have my original Twin Reverb I bought in '65 or so. Weighs a ton. Dragged it around the five boroughs of New York playing gigs, but nothing could kill it. The spring unit is still there in the bottom, and still working!
