My brother has an old Boss 8 track recorder and there is a vocal effect called 'Chip & Munk' (or somethign like that) that does the exact thing you're looking for (it's really funny actually!). Maybe you can do a google search for something similar?

P.S. I used it to record a funny cover of Since I Don't Have You (Don McLean cover) and it was hillarious!!

Does Melodyne work with Sony Vegas or Sony Soundforge? Their site says "NO" to Audition - but does not mention Sony. Anyone know?

Also - I am also looking for a GOOD vocal pitch change VST plugin. The ones with Soundforge seem to be filled with anomolies if you say anything longer than 10 seconds in length - I am using it for different characters who sometimes have to speak for a long time - so I need a GOOD pitch changer. Thinking Melodyne - but not sure it will work.
Thanks
Tito

Yep, in the pre-DAW days, folks used to record at a slow tape-speed and then speed up the tape playback to get the "chipmunk" sound.

Works the same way in reverse to get slow, deep vocals.

Or, you could take a Quaalude or 5 to get the same effect....

"Quaalude" --> Now there's a term from the past that should go into the hall of 70's schtick along with the 8-Track tape!
