Arrow Vocal plugins

hey guys, So I have autotune 5 and am it works great but I am looking for another VST vocal plugin that will allow me to change the pitch from high to low. (like alvin and the chipmunks - Bad guys on power rangers.) haha. if any one has any suggestions on a VST plugin that would let me do this that would be sweet. also if you know of any other misc vst vocal plugins that are nice let me know, thanks.

If you don't need real time conversion you can also do this with most DAWs. Just pitch shift an audio track down by and octave or more.

I have a thing in Cool Edit Pro that has an effect called stretch. It will do the chipmunks thing and the bad guys also. It will do almost anything you want it to do if you have cool edit pro...

Both Logic & Cubase (SX and LE) can do it as well.

Auto Tune is pretty standard. Some other possibilties are Celemony's Melodyne (WAY better GUI) and I just found out about a freeware pitch correction/tuner called Gsnap. See separate post in Plugins Reviews.

For what you are trying to do specifically, the programs above will require some major, manual, tweaking. I don't believe any of the auto settings will up the pitch just like your looking for. Some kind of re-harmonizer might do the trick. I've often wondered how Alvin and the Chipmunks got their signature sound before tuning software existed?! Time to find out I guess.

I think they recorded at a slow speed then sped it up, like 33 to 45 rpm. I remember as a kid listening to them on a 45 record, then switching it to 33, it then sounded like just regular people singing....just a guess
