I used windows for many, many years, and had nothing but trouble. Started using macs 3 years ago (both at work and at home) and haven't had NEARLY the amount of problems i had with pcs. I'm not doing anything any differently, either, so it's not as if my "inferior" computing skills were causing me to ruin all of my pcs. (i'm kidding about the "inferior" stuff; I've been using these damned machines since I got my radioshack trs-80 back in 1984). My husband, on the other hand, prefers his pc, and doesn't find my macbook to be all that interesting. It's a silly thing to argue about, and a really silly thing to act holier than thou about, no matter which side of the debate you find yourself on. People should just use whatever works best for them and not worry about what others want to use.

I"m a Logic user. I love the program but there are things that bug me about it. Overall though I think it's great. But really I've heard great music from every professional platform. It's all about what you do with these programs, PC or Mac.
I do think Mac is a superior operating system though... super stable. I have a G5 tower and it's awesome. |

I think more than anything else i found it Strange there was no Logic forum. It seems to me that this site is mostly US based. In england there would have been a logic site first ( not so much now as its only on the Mac). I think it all stems from the early days when (so ive been told) you couldnt get a decent sound card for a pc...so the Mac was the only serious music making comp. Now because some of those early guys are at the top of the tree..they are used to Macs and wont ever change. hence the myth, in the UK at least, is perpetuated. For example you will still see pictures of top pro Studios using Yammaha NS 10 monitors. They were shit. But because the old boy engineer who was asked to put the Studio together has been using them since day one. I still get people trying to tell me they must be good because so n so Studio uses them.

Aahh... the saga continues...
It's been said before, it's not the program but what we accomplish with it. Glad to see the Logic forum. Im an old Acid, cubebase/PC and MPC user. And now I do almost everything in Logic. Not because it's better but because It has made me/my projects better. Also you get a lot of bang for your buck, folks this program is "DEEP" and yet not perfect. Hopefully we'll get to see Abelton, DP,PT and others. Good move BD |

guys that use PC for their DAW's I know have had to go deep into the program to disable some aspects of the program to make it efficient for audio.
And of course you're a target for viruses if you're connected to the internet and always sending files like I and many are. I hate that. Plus Windows always seems to collect gunk and you can't clean your drive as easily as you can with Mac. |
