Default Why no Logic..isnt it the Best????

Just an observation!!!
you dont have a subforum for Logic Audio!!!! I use Cubase my self...but Logic users have a way of making you feel really inferior if you use any other software and a pc rather than a Mac!!

No sense in having a forum with no one on it. I'm sure Brandon would be happy to add a Logic forum if there was a userbase who wanted it, and if there was, I'm sure they'd ask for a forum.

I use both Mac's and PC's. Macfanatics tend to sugarcoat their experiences. My experience with several Mac's has been no more positive than with PC's.

Why do you think you're missing out by not using a Mac?

The only reasons I think you'd want to switch are -

1. if PC's aren't doing the job you need them to do
2. if you want to use software that isn't available on the Windows platform

Mac's really suit people who can't get on with PC's. If you don't want to do any clean up, then a Mac is a better choice. If you want more flexibility, a PC is a better choice. If money is an issue, a PC is a better choice (and for more reasons than the initial outlay that most Mac users will deny is an issue).

I "Got On" with PC's most of my life (and I'm old) but I wouldn't go back to them for all the tea in China. Windows is a BIG VIRUS in my opinion.

a computer's a computer. Macs aren't inherently better. Logic isn't better than any other software. The final product that i can get when using logic, as opposed to cubase, however, is a massive massive improvement. Why? because it's what i'm used to using.

I would quite like a forum for logic though. But I'm not too bothered about it really.

The learning curve on logic really sucks. It does tons, but if you aren't used to working with it and are trying to switch over to it from other programs, you will see it to be very challenging. Logic is a thorn in my side. I hate having to use it, as it is so easier to do the same things in other programs. As far as the users of it and thier superiority complex some portray, most of them have invested so much time learing one program(logic) that they can't get around on others. I find if best to get really good at what you like to use, and learn basics about the others that are popular at the time. There is a real surge in people using Sonar lately, but its just the latest passing fav. If you want to garantee compatibility with professional studios, Make sure you can get your session to show up properly in protools. You can always garantee a studio of pro calibler can get a protools if they don't have it in house. Whether you think protools is the best or not, it IS the pro standard at this point.

Alright, after seeing the Cubase forum doing fairly well, I'd decided to do a little experiment to see if a Logic forum will work. So here you go:

I think this is true of most DAWS. They all work in enough of a different way to each other to screw with your mind when you switch. When I first used ProTools, all I'd ever used to that point was Cubase. It took me a few months to really get used to ProTools. When I was forced on Digital Performer, I really didn't have a clue. I still don't have much of one, but I found it to be the least intuitive DAW I've used. Some people love it to pieces. It just goes to show... it really comes down to what you're used to.

Funny... I think I run the ONLY ProTools HD system in the whole city I live in, so be watchful of regional variations! We bought it to be compatible with the whole recording community, and I've not come across one person who can make use of that! We can still give out session wav files, but that's it. If we'd had Cubase, we'd have been able to give out to everyone by exporting using OMF format. ProTools is the only application I know of where you have to BUY the right to export OMF (and at $500, I won't do it on principle!).
