Default Track overview not showing waveform

When I record any new tracks in Logic 8 Express, the overview doesn't contain anything except clear blue and no waveform shapes.

It only starts to show the waveform after the project has been saved and reloaded or reverted.

Any ideas how I can force Logic to refresh the overview after each new track is recorded?

I've heard about that bug. Won't happen all the time and I don't remember the cause.

Check that you have the latest update, repair disk permissions and restart your mac

How do I do "Repair disk permissions" ? I've only started using a Mac this year and I don't know my way round it fully yet :-(

Open up finder
Go to Applications
Utilities
Disk Utility - open it

Or with spotlight, type in disk utility and enter

On the left side you see a list of all drives
Select the drive, on the right side you see a couple option, click "verify and repair Disk Permissions"
