AHH thank you! First here's 3 pictures of the stuff that's well see-able. I've got a Mac Os X 10.3 Desktop running I guess the original garageband. Inside of that is an Audiophile 2496 4-in/4out audiocard, by M-audio. And some logitech monitors. The way I usually have it set up is as follows. (note that I've used almost every combination imaginable.) I have the preamp going into the mixer via XLR. I generally use a 1/4 inch to stereo rca adapter plugged into the Phones of the mixer. So the computer is recieving the mixed sound from the mixer. The other end of those RCA cables is going into the Input of the Soundcard. To hear what's going on I have the output of the computer connected to my monitors via rca aswell. Now, while I'm playing whatever it may be I can hear what I'm doing through the monitors, and it sounds lovely. When i hit record, I can still hearmyself playing nicely, but when I go to hit stop, then play it back, there is a decent difference in quality, not crazy, but enough to drive me insane?!?!?! all the depth is gone, and makes me super sad X.X It doesn't make sense to me because if the monitors are getting the information from the computer shouldn't it be able to reproduce it the same, I'm so confused X.X I've tried combinations with the rca inputs on the tapedeck thing on the mixer aswell but it sounds exactly the same. If there's any other information I'd be super glad to provide it, I just don't know what X.x. THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND I LOVE YOUR NAME :P Last edited by nutadactyl; 06-28-2009 at 05:36 AM. |

I could be that you are listening to a direct out from your sound card and the monitor out from garage band which will sound louder and fuller. See if you can not monitor your sound through garage band. Cheers

Using proper cable connections without adapters would be a start. No Headphone to dual rca adapters, there should be main or control room outputs on the mixer, use a 1/4"TS to RCA cable to go into the soundcard. Next, don't connect a preamp to a preamp, either use the mic preamps in the Mixer, or connect your external preamp into a LINE input of the mixer with TRS cables. Next, on the mixer input 1 must be panned hard left, input 2 must be hard right Turn all gain knobs and faders down on the channels NOT being used, they'll just add noise to your mixer output. |

I just blame Behringer for this one. LOL
