Logic Studio instalation is FOREVER?

HI All, Just curious to know how long it takes to install the full Logic Studio?
It feels like it's taking forever. Also on my 1st try It took the "install disk, but when I went to put the Jam pack content 1 disk in it would not continue to write to my hard drive.

I'm attempting to install again now and it reads 16 hours to go!

Any one out there have a clue?

Well, it's round two and all is flowing slowly but surely (12 hours and 15mins).
I realized I mistakenly put the wrong disk in... so that splains it, why the install would not progress after the master install disk.

It should take about 4 to 6 hours for the whole thing. Be patient. What are the specs on your mac?

Looks good. I would shut down anything else, including airport, so that the program can just install. Good luck. I've been using logic for about three years, and it is a powerful, incredible program. I love it.

Hey Boo,

Thanks for your reply and experience. Yup I'm itching to get going.
So far I've only worked in Garageband, (about 8 months, on and off). It's more of a hobby right now. Do you know if I can open my Garageband projects in Logic pro, and continue to work on them?

I believe that you can. You can't open logic files in garageband but you can open GB files in Logic.

Yeah, my installation took better part of a day as well. The content was going to an external (firewire) drive, and the programs were installed onto my Macbook's internal drive. I have also found that Logic performs better when the airport is disabled. I'm not sure why, but it seems to be a common issue...

Thanks for getting back to me. Yup it took most of a day to load. I'm going to start messing around in the next couple of days. On Thursday I'm going to take a One-to-One training at the Apple store. I'm sure I'll have lots more questions as I go forward and appreciate the help.
