Logic with Firepod - ANNOYING. help please!
When trying to record guitar today I came across an annoying problem. I'm running a presonus firepod through firewire into logic pro 8 on my 2.53ghz Macbook pro. What was happening was there was a noticable delay, when recording, between when I picked a note on guitar and when I heard it monitored through my speakers. I changed the buffer size, didn't work. So, just to make sure my ears weren't deceiving me, I put a mic up to my monitor and recorded. The mic picked up Logic's metronome, which was switched on for recording. So, if there was no delay going on, I would expect to hear, during playback, logic's click (turned on for playback) and the recorded click completely in sync with each other. That's not what I got. When I played it back, I heard logic's click, followed quickly by the recorded click. "click-click, click-click, etc."...
So then I opened Cubase LE 4 and did the same experiment. It worked in Cubase. Same buffer size. The recorded click and cubase's click were perfectly in sync.
This leads me to believe it's not a problem with the firepod, but a problem with logic, or core audio or something.
Pleeeasssee lend me a hand here.
Thank you!
