How to get DTXploere working with ezdrummer in Logic Pro 8

I have searched high and low for the answer. To no avail. I have the drums running thru a midi sport 2x2 and i can see that there is a midi signal in ezdrummer and logic itself. Some of the sounds work correctly eg when i hit the crash it sounds a crash in ezdrummer. Others aren't correct eg kick drum makes the snare sound. I need a step by step guide on how to set it up so that all of the pads play the right sounds. Other questions similar to this have answers that make no sense to me. It has been 13 years since i played with midi so treat me like i am starting from scratch.

I am running logic pro 8, M-audio fast track interface, Midisport 2x2 midi interface, iMac, yamaha DTXplorer. If you need any more info i can provide it.
