Maybe this is something simple and I should read other threads, but I am just asking directly. I bought a new mixer, a Behringer Xenyx 1204 and I am trying to run it through my garage band set up. I connected the mixer with the cables it came with, through the USB adapter and everything looks fine and dandy. I went to the garageband preferences and changed the input source to USB audio codec (and the output and everything in between). I connect my guitar to the mixer and the signal gets recognized, but the program doesnt bring out any sound or signal. I've created real tracks, set the mono channel, and almost everything I know (being a noob), but I am not getting results. Any help? Thanks a lot EDIT: Now I got signal. It's clipping at a high rate. I have to push it to the heaviest levels to hear just a little bit of sound, it recorded well, but I just hear a lot of distortion. The signal level the program registers is very small, almost non existant even when the mixer is pushed to unreal realms. I was putting the guitar direct just to test it, but I connected a valvetronix and same result here. EDIT 2: A couple of cellphone pics of the dilemma: how I connect the mixer to the mac: ![]() The level I receive in the computer: ![]() This one sucks, but it is how high it is so I can hear something through the speakers: Last edited by extraextra; 07-04-2009 at 03:15 PM. |
