Default Express 8 vs Audio 6

What's new in Express 8 that isn't already in Logic Audio 6? Haven't done any other homework and have been out of the software loop for a while because I have a "borrowed" copy of Logic 6, which seems to do everything plus stuff I will never even dream of using. I even have trouble setting up a VST or soft synth, all my stuff is outboard.
If it is worth upgrading, where can I get the info?
Cheers,
PhilB

You've probably answered your own question. Cut your teeth on Logic 6. It's an older program, but the basics are the same. If Logic 6 will run on your computer, then learn all it's in's and outs and then decide if you want to upgrade.

Thanks boo, I thought as much.
BTW, I am putting together a laptop "on location" recording setup and am trying to figure out what laptop will do the job with Logic. Seems like some people can work with Vista but most have complaints. Without spending heaps on a mac, will Vista 32 or 64 work for a basic 2-3 channel classical recording rig with Logic, OR what laptop config allows me to install XP sp2 (the latest HP DV6+ series apparently don't).
Cheers,
Phil

I know very little about pc's. However, you might look into getting a macbook. If you learn Logic and like it and want to upgrade, you'll have to have a mac. It looks like Apple bought Logic in 2002 and it became mac only after early versions of 6. I think you can upgrade to Logic Studio 8 from 6 for a couple hundred. Otherwise you'll be stuck running old software, or you'll have to switch sequencers. You might want to read this for the lowdown.
