Default Alesis Multimix 16 FW, everything works great except audio input via FW

Hello. I'm using Logic 8 on my MacBook and Alesis Multimix Firewire. I have the newest drivers, the computer and Logic recognizes Alesis and I can output audio from my computer to Alesis via Firewire. The only problem is, I can't record anything! The faders are set to a high level and I have the sound coming out of CTRL ROOM. When I try to record, Alesis' volume LEDs indicate that I have incoming sound, and so does the control panel in system preferences -> sound. I've also tried Audacity and rebooting the computer. Please help me!

Read the manual. Use common sense.

If that fails, press buttons till it works.

Had the same problem with my firewire mixer for a while, then I figured it out and realized I was being an idiot!

ive had the same problem, i got it working but couldnt get any sound output through my mac speakers.

go into finder, and search for 'audio'

find the 'audio and midi' thing
click on it and make sure your input it set to alesis firewire

open a new logic project and make sure you select the input as your mixer and into mono, thats how i did it. took me a while to figure out myself!

now i just need to make it so i can hear what i record!
