Having problems with Midi Latency with the following setup: MOTU 828mkII Digital/Audio/Midi Interface (FIREWIRE 400) G4 IMAC 1.25 Mhz w/ 2 Megs RAM (standard disk) Garage Band 09/Leopard I'm experiencing terrible MIDI latency which never occurred with older versions of ILIFE GB and TIGER... Audio recording (live instruments) are fine. But MIDI instruments using GarageBand Library Patches (such as Electric Piano. or anything ) are impossibly delayed. (Played from my midi controller (Roland RD700) via MOTU Midi Interface. MOTU drivers have been updated. I've tried two different G4 IMACs 1.25 (one w/ 2 GB RAM one w/ 768 MB RAM).. Please dont' tell me I need higher performance gear. .this *should* be ace for amateur, yet solid quality productions. Played w/ "optimization" settings (multi tracks etc.. ) in GB no help. Shutdown other apps, network interface etc.. to get cycles but seems not to help. There is something whacky going on here. Thanks for suggestions! Last edited by playsummuzik; 05-14-2009 at 09:44 PM. Reason: 2 GB RAM not 2 MB! |
