Where is the time window?

Hi everybody,

I need to see the time window displaying the current position of the playback cursor AS IT RUNS. The only thing I see now is a STATIC, NOT DYNAMIC cursor position. I've been pulling my hair out for a long time looking for that in Audacity. I have searched all over the program. Please help!

Audacity isn't a professional recording program, there are many missing features and limitations.

Time to upgrade? Check out Reaper

I don 't have it in front of me but in View menu, can't you set it to Pure Time? Turn off Snap-To mode in Edit menu. I think that works, it's been awhile.
