Hi all, First of all please accept my ignorance with all this but I'm new to the home recording business and I'm wanting to record trombone, using multitracking via Audacity. I have a Samson USB mic but have found that I get a large amount of noise after I've done all the editing etc. Are there any settings within Audacity that eliminate this without adjusting overall tone? On another matter, I'm looking to achieve an effective reverb for the tracks -something like a largish concert hall. Any ideas on settings within Audacity? Many thanks for all your help ![]() Nick |

Can't help with your noise problem without hearing it. Editing itself shouldn't introduce any noise - is it there in the original recording? If so, then you need to change your set up - maybe your mic is faulty. For reverb, get the VST enabler (from Audacity), and go to KVR Audio and get some plugins. I'd recommend the Kjaerhus Audio Classic series for some great free plugins. Nothing specifically large hall, but might be able to use somethng from that collection. SIR1 is a good freeware convolution reverb - if you can find a good hall impulse, you can load it up. There are free ones around out there.
