Default Newbie' Need help

I paly the native american flute and want to start making some back up sounds. I down loaded Audacity and some plug ins. The outdoorverb, which I will wait to use when I get a mike, and the Nature pack from XOXO.

I want to play around with the nature pack to work on the thunderstorms but all I get is alot of white noise. I can't even get anything remotely sounding like a thunderstrom.

The screen that is shown on the website dosn't even come up.

Can anyone give me any clue as to what to do.

I eventually would like to start recording with the program. I heard it is a good one. I just need some help in getting started even if it is making basic loops.

And yes I am a newbie. Hope to move forward.

You've got a bit of a wrong idea about this..It is a reverb unit..It generates reflections of sound input to it..It's not going to create a thunderstorm.

The idea is that if you record a sound and add this plugin to it, the sound will sounds like it is outdoors, in the rain, whatever.

As far as what it looks llike - the GUI for VST's is a new feature in Audacity 1.3.8 (is that the version you are using?) Before then it used the generic controls for VST plugins.

BTW if you want actually Thunderstorm audio you might try the Freesound project.
