im a complete beginner on this. i have cubase but its too complicated so i tried audacity.

iv plugged guitars and mics into a tascam US-122L which is connected to my laptop through USB. i cant find anything on the program to record sound through the usb. help?

Try Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O > then select your device from the Playback and Recording list drop down menu. Then make your selections in the Quality menu. Good Luck, Dave

Cubase is very powerful and will allow you to do just about anything you will ever need to do. This requires a manual read and putting in a little time.

So Whats The Big Deal With Cubase??? I've Been Using Audacity My Whole Recording Life And I Have Never Really Come Into Any Problems. So That Being Said What Makes Cubas Better? And DO The Noobs On The Site Need It? (Im Talking About Myself Of Course)

I can't answer that because I've never used Audacity. I started with Vegas and was blown away by the possibilities when I switched to Cubase SX3. You can read about some of this here:
