Default GVerb Setting

I'm have a hard time setting the GVerb to anything usable.
Does anyone have a setting that has a slight reverb sound. The roomsize doesn't matter.

I've lost any functionality with it now.

Is the plugin malfuctioning or are you just having trouble getting the sound you want out of it?

I'm just trying to set the GVerb to something usable. Any setting I try is not as good as my guitar amp's Reverb. Any suggestions?

I doubt if there is a plugin around, regardless of price, that can match a really good guitar amp's reverb (like a Fender Twin or something).

Can you post a clip and post your settings? Maybe then I can help you. I'm a believer in cheap reverbs. Not for everything but for more things that most people give them credit.

Sorry for not responding to your reply in awhile.

Obviously Audacity is such a flexible tool, it's capable of using plugins. I decided to try some of the plug-ins available to me.
I must say I was quite impressed with some reverbs available.

The GVerb worked for me after fiddling with it a while.
The only way I could use it was to leave a track dry with no effects, then duplicate the same track, but putting GVerb on it.

So then in the mix, I could adjust the level of how much GVerb I needed by using the volume slider and the L and R speaker sliders.

Does this make sense?
Although I prefer other plug-ins since they are easy to use and are set at a nice default.

Edub57, I'm not sure what you mean by "set up a bus", and send it there
Please explain.

Thanks

well in your mixer window, you have the ability to set up busses, a buss is a in put out put, where you can set up your effects and route them thru and blend in your dry signal with what ever effects you are pluging in. this will give you the ability to keep your main tracks integrity and just splash some shine on it. Im in the process of learning this myself since i use cool edit and for ever ive been dumping the effects onto the tracks which in turn just saturated my track. doing it thru a send will give you that flexibility to add as much or as little effects as needed. I hope this helps, i will look around in the audacity forum to see if theres a post on how to set it up. you are using audacity correct?

Smile Re: GVerb Setting

I see. Very interesting.
I guess I should get one then. A mixer that is.
Maybe I could have explained that I don't have one.
Many do have one I'm sure, but being out of music for 15 years, and
sold my stage equipment.

I just have:
Roland Cube-60
'82 Ibanez Blazer guitar
Zoom G7.1ut effects pedal (recently acquired)
and Audacity.

Limited I know.

Thanks for your response EDUB457. I'll keep that in mind.
