Default Encoding problem

Hi!
Is it possible to encode a file edited in Audacity using iTunes encoder?
I am a Mac user.

I use Audio Hijack Pro for recoding musics from different web sites. Having done recording I have two options:
1- To encode them, one by one, by using iTune MP3 encoder, which is fairly quck (Audio Hijack Pro allows this option);
2- To transfer them, again one by one, to Audacity for editing and then exporting to be encoded and saved as MP3 files. The problem with Audacity is that it takes ages to complete the job (it takes around ten times more than iTunes to encode and save large files!!!).
One way to get around the problem is to use iTunes MP3 encoder, exactly as Audio Hijack Pro does. That's why I raised the above question.

Hi fortyseven!
You asked: "What file format does this Audio Hijack use? "
Audio Hijack records sounds that can be heard in a computer, irrespective of their origin and format, and, records/saves them in MP3 format files. (It does recording and encoding simultaneously)

Dude I must admit that I dont know what you're asking. If Audio Hijack encodes directly to mp3 then why would you have a need for iTunes or Audacity?

Sometimes I need to edit/trim a file recorded/saved in PM3 format by Audio Hijack; for that purpose I use Audacity.

well then once you're done editing in audacity, simply click save. if audacity takes too long for you then i suggest looking at another similar program. the speed at which audacity encodes cannot be altered nor does it use other programs to do this.
