Default Data file loss

Hello, Audacity users:

Something strange happened. I was editing a multi-track session, when suddenly the guitar track had a missing area and I got a message saying that a certain file (in this cas b00358au) was missing.

Has this happened to you? If so, did you retrieve the file, and if so, how?

Use windows explorer and go to the folder where you have the project files stored. Check if the missing (wave) file is there. If it is check if it is not corrupted - try playing it in a media player.

If it is missing, check your recycle bin, get a data recovery program or simply do over the part.

Thank you, CCat!

In the mean time, I was able to copy an earlier version of the guitar part into the current project.

The project is posted in the Bash My Recording area as Archiegood Trio Does Disco.

Are you strictly an Audacity user? I love it! This is the first time I've ever had such a problem.

Naw, I use Reason for drums/percussion/piano, Sonar to record and Audition to master.
