Hi Jack. You're starting with a good program to get your feet wet. There several ways to change the wave form:

1) If you want to actually alter each individual sample and thus eliminate transients by hand then zoom in real close until you can see each sample as a dot on the waveform. You use the Pencil tool to move each dot up and down.

2) Use plugins under the effects menu. Click on a track and use the menu under "Effects" to alter the wave form, based upon which effect you use.

3) You can also slice your wave form. Use the Selection tool and select part of your wave form. Copy it, and then Paste it somewhere else in your track or another track. You can then move this "loop" around to whereever you want.

Hope this helped.

Hi
I'll try that. It seems like an awful lot to go through just to record and tag a few records or tapes and then get them to Media player libarry.
Thanks Jack

There really isn't much of an easier way, in fact, I'd think that using Audacity is easier than some of the others I have seen out there. Some people will record a whole side in Audacity, then cut and paste into new wav files to save a bit of work.

I can tell you are trying to get a record or tape onto your computer, but what other actions do you want to do to the files?

Hi,
I gather when you say to click on a track, you mean where the sine wave is. I do'nt know what else to call it. I tried this and the only thing that happened was a finger pointing to a line. No menue. Jack W.

I had Musicmatch Jukebox for awhile. That was easy but I had to be there to start and stop the recording every time. Jack W.
