Question Is anyone running Vista and Audacity successfully?

I’m very new to home recording and have been reading manuals and various forums/treads. There seems to be a pattern of trouble with Vista running Audacity. I’m wondering if, given my hardware/software below….Does Vista/Audacity work well for anyone with a similar situation?
According to “Device Manager” this is what I have….
Operating System…Vista
Computer….ACPI x86
Processor…Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU
Sound…..Realtek High Definition Audio

I am!
I now have a functioning home recording studio running Audacity under Vista. Hopefully I'll not run into the trouble others have, haven't yet anyway, but all seems well as of now. I recording my first song and the only trouble I'm having is a volume issue.
