Default alesis multimix 8 HELP!

I'm not new to cubase LE or the alesis multimix, but shit just WENT DOWN! I had a virus so i rebooted my system clean, then went throught the reinstalling everything and grabbing files and whatnot, everything was running great and all. Then i went to test the mixer to record some drums for a sec, and there's this whitenoise i can't see in waveform on the program, but i can still here it on the playback. It doesn't play back whitenoise with regular sound files on my computer, just stuff i recorded on the alesis. It also does the whitenoise crap on audacity. It makes no sense to me, I used it fine and easy before i rebooted my system. What's causeing the noise that i can't see! (btw it still makes the noise if you export the file from the software) ;-; working on it for 20 hours and nothing ;-;

I suspect a driver issue. computers are a delicate balance. Make yourself a checklist. Enumerate everything in your computer if you can. ensure that each driver is as recent as possible.

motherboard drivers can be had at your motherboard or computer manufacturer's site. These are typically onboard stuff including hard drive controllers, front side bus, onboard video and sound, and others.
sound drivers
video drivers
most monitors have drivers that work better than windows' "generic monitor driver"
keyboard and mice often have specific drivers
I think there are more but my brain isn't in that gear.

Could be a hardware issue as well though.

Maybe you have an onboard sound card that needs turned off?

Now why it doesn't show up in your waveform view? I've no idea. Maybe something is happening post-record to "overheat" the signal. I don't even know if that's possible. Just trying to brainstorm with you.
