Quality: 9
The sounds are beautiful, dynamic, and astounding. The built-in reverb is simple but extremely powerful sound-wise. This is an impossibly good plug-in. The piano sounds are one of the highlights (for me). If you want a demo of what some of the pianos sound like, listen to this demo I wrote a while ago: November Take note that there is a new version coming out that uses the PLAY! sampler instead of the NI Kompakt one that they use right now. Either way, both are excellent. There is a DFD function (direct from drive) that saves you precious RAM when using this. Instead of pre-loading all the samples you're using onto your RAM, it attempts to stream them from your hard drive, which is an awesome function. You may need to download a patch to get this, though. Reliability: 8 It's a VSTi, has multiple midi channel capability, everything on it works great. I've been having slight issues with the DFD every once in a while. Sometimes it chops off the release of notes and flashes red while crackling and making some pretty scary noises. I've been able to find ways to work around it though, and it is a very rare problem. Overall Rating: 9 'Yes, gentlemen' is all I have to say. This is an excellent investment. Coupled with a midi cable and 10 fingers, you can create some really beautiful stuff. HIGHLY recommended. |
