Finally got a round to trying the record function today. It's not bad, at all.
It might fit into a small Diamond wooden match box. Huh, it's a tight fit if you remove the clip.
I see a little hole on the upper back edge, so I guess it's a boundary mic type. It records wave.
Tried two things;
recorded a old mp3 of West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band "Suppose They Give a War and No One Comes". hung the Clip from a wire hanging in front of my Bose 301 Music Motivator II left speaker - hole facing the drivers. Sounds pretty good. A bit of tin can from the placement, but fidelity is there.
tried to clip the Clip to my acoustic soundhole and recorded two minutes of me fishing around trying to get it out. Again Good fidelity : ) I got a couple seconds of it placed about two foot away. Treble prone at that distance, but fidelity was good.
I'm going to bundle it up like a tampon on a string and just let it record from inside the box. Maybe.
Ya, you can record with these under $30 recorders. When I got around to clip a section I see that it does soft clip, and, it's 24KHz, 16-bit mono.
