I've got the BR-1600CD, it's great having 8 inputs on the back, being able to mic up a drum kit properly. I think it was definitely worth spending the extra money for that feature alone. But also the screen is bigger and the basic controls work better on the 1600 (I have also used the 1200 before btw).

My only problem is how difficult it is to transfer tracks from the unit to a PC. We did get it done but it took forever.
