Default Boss BR-1200CD Reviews

Boss BR-1200CD @ Musiciansfriend

Boss BR-1200CD @ Zzounds

Boss BR-1200CD Description
The Boss BR-1200CD Digital Recording Studio may be the most comprehensive hard disk recorder you can get, but it's also easy to use. 2-track simultaneous record and 12-track simultaneous playback with 192 virtual tracks, plus professional I/O makes the BR-1200CD a versatile recording partner. It's packed with great COSM effects and amp models derived from BOSS's GT-6/6B multi-effects processors, plus a great-sounding bass and drum rhythm programmer for instant backing tracks. Just press the Audio CD Write/Play button to jump to the CD Burning menu and finalize your project. Pro touches include an icon-based user interface, XLR inputs with phantom power, and a USB port for audio export/import in WAV format.

Quality: 10
It sound very very good.
no problems with it malfunctioning or breaking in any way.
I find that the user interface is easy to use which is a big plus now I can spend my time actual recording, composing and arranging rather than continually spending my time concentrating on getting the recorder to function.
As a slide player I'd call it slide player simple.

Reliability: 10
it is ( so far ) totally reliable!

no support assistance necessary.

Overall Rating: 10
As a new user I do not have a matured knowledge of this unit yet. so far it is great.
i would recommend this without hesitation. as a dyslexic person I find it easy to use, and able to do what I want easily.

Yes if it were eaten by the gear eating rats in the wall I would replace it and by bigger non lethal rat traps

i have the BR-1600CD which Im guessing is the same, except with 16 tracks, and I agree with this review, its very user friendly, but my friend who owned one for years, can do some amazing things with it.

I use mine for when I go camping(I'm not kidding) and it stands up just fine to the abuse. I have several clients that use them for song writing and demos with great results. I had a client record an album on one. I then downloaded the files to my studio, mixed and mastered the tracks and they came off really well.

Reliability: 9
As mentioned before this machine is rugged although I know one person that bought a br1600 off ebay and 6 months later the hd needed replacement. Mine truly gets abused ie. campfire ashes, weather extremes, moved all the time, fell of the kitchen table opps! Of the half a dozen or so others that I know of that clients use, there has never been a problem.

Overall Rating: 7
Yes.

Well,Guys,what can i say!.........i own a BR864...Excellent sound quality!
Effects.....TOP NOTCH!......transfering thru USB,was a bitch..and reading
"roland-speak" in the manual was nerve-racking...But with a built in Burner
i know the 1200 is much better,i say Go for it!
But i chose the Zoom HD16 this time.Like Speed500 said,All i want to do is make music!

yeah, i wish there were people just roaming around, whose job it was to engineer our sound. they'd find us, and we'd say, "hey dude, here's ten bucks. now make me sound good!"

hey giga
if you were in NY i'd probably try to rent you out for $20 an hour. i can't deal with all this EQ shit and getting tracks to blend. i can make music, but i totally suck at recording. and so do the people i play with.
but i'm confident that we'll put all our brains together and figure it out.
