Daws are different because of the interoperability not because of the sound."Its not the tool but the carpenter"

Pounamu,
from the ears,

Well I reckon the sound can be different. I run Pro Tools 7.4 and when I Render a track or record back to the same instance of the tune to the Master Pro Tools session then import the particular track or tracks to Reaper then play with no changes in eq or anything on my outboard gear. Well I do get a change, by ear, brighter and a little bit more defined.
I may get around to having a look on an eq graph via Harbal, if I do I'll post it.
So I'll leave it there for the moment!

Best

DAW's with the SAME settings may well sound different. But the SAME results are possible on all DAWS with whatever settings are applicable for that DAW.

Greetings Richiebee,

Firstly I know nothing about binary language, I also appreciate that you probably know what you are saying is right and it may well be. However I will ask from you why is it that in the world of Audio Plugins, are so many straight forward EQ's so different in sound?
Why are there so many discussions out there on the quality of plugins when the Audio Software programs themselves have the capability of sounding the same?
We hear talk of the way logarithim's are used and the quality of the writing.
Not to mention 64 bit internal against 32 bit internal.
As I put forward my in observation thus far, my observations are from my ear and that certainly is not infallible! My ear is learning learning learning.
I'd be really interested in any enlightenment Richiebee that you can give, I'm sure we all would appreciate to learn what is going on out there in the world of binary.

Best

Totally agree on what´s important: getting to know your software to get what you want out of it. That said, I´ve noticed differences in audio perfomance between DAWs, and just the same between players (Windows Media vs. Traktor, Creative and Nokia, for instance). Not better or worse, but different sound.
