Hey e'budy!
Started using "guitar finale" back in 03, upgraded to Finale 2007 in 07 and am looking at F/08. The 08 program looks great but I'm gonna stick with 07/c for now. The beauty of a notation program is although I can read music (hunt and peck method), I can type out full piano/guitar scores and play them back or convert them to "tab" for better ear familiarization. I have both Finale and it's chief competitor and finale's "simple entry" is IMO much easier to use. I'm the song leader at the church I attend and we sing the traditional hymns. Some of the hymns are quite obscure so if I don't know the piece I simply type out the full piano score or just the melody, type the repeat sign for 20 or so loops and play the piece until I have it in my head. I teach guitar and the tab program is indispensable! I think you can't go wrong having this type of tool at your disposal. Over the years I've found Make music's support and forums to be good sources of help! Thanks for your time! stigg. |
