No, Im not Horrible but im in a 19x12x7 room with a concrete floor, drop ceiling with armstrongs most absorbant cieling tiles and a bunch of insulation shoved above. Ive got four 2x4x6inch thick bass traps of 703 in each corner.

This kind of room is not gonna enhance the sound of my guitar. Its muddy sounding and im always cutting 440 to 550 right off the bat. That goes for the drums moreso.

I buzzed over to yr site for less than a second, something tells me our musical tastes are similar. Where ARE you from anyway Danielson.

I've been doing this a very long time...and love sharing as well as learning from others. Been a signed artist since 1999 and have a decent following in Europe and Japan for the most part. Got heavily into engineering, production and mastering along the way and have built a pretty decent business on the side while still working on my original projects. Great to be here and I'm looking forward to taking part here. Thanks again for your kindness and conversation.
Hey Dan nice to meet you. Here is the place to introduce yourself.Introduce Yourself Forum.

Blaw blaw software... Load wavs in multi track. solo the song you want to work on.
If there is a sound you want to simulate or one up. you could load a copy of that song... now you solo from one to the other and if it was consistant to start with you should be able to effect each track very close to the same. Ussually mastering is Making the songs sound like they came from the same album (Basically). what is done before that... Engineering, is probably more important as this cannot really be fixed by the master. What the master does usually will effect the whole mix.

Thanks willj

I have opted to use hardware instead of software for mastering. I have found that frequently less surgery is needed but not unavoidable.

What monitors are ya using Will? I'm from New Jersey. Posted up some info on that introduce yourself thread Paul mentioned.

Unfortunately Event TR8's. I am hoping soon to be building a room/rooms here at my house that would be beneficial to my recording future.

I could just never see the point in buying monitors with my acoustical situation the way that it is.

I read yr intro post. Very cool. Pittsburgh PA here brother.

Devils Fan?

I like those monitors Will and have had good results with them in the past. I think that if you can record decent sounds, ARC will help you mix them the right way for sure man.

Pitt eh?! Right on bro, you're about 6 hours from me. I'm actually a Flyers fan. All the philly teams are what I cheer for here. I'm originally from south philly...and live about 30 mins from the Walt Whitman Bridge. I'm right in between philly and atlantic city if that helps any. An old little mafia hide-out town in the sticks hidden and isolated from everthing. LOL!!

All no a flyers/eagles fan. You gatta admit Pa is a great football state. Between the eagles and steelers we got 6 super bowls.

I spent a good deal of time in newark for work last year, and have done some runnin around philly.

I feel you on the Tr8s Danny, I would think that with the proper mixing set up, i could be happy with those monitors. Ive hadem for atleast 10 years so i should know them descent. Im thinkin on looking into ARC some more tomorrow. But man i gotta tell you i got some BAD GAS right now.

I know its gettin late there too so thanks for the awesome conversation if i dont hear back tonight.
