Default Mastering. Not sure if this is the right place to post.

Hi all , I am trying to get to the level of mastering that the mega pros have.
I would like to test master some songs other than my own.
If any of you would like to give me a chance I would love the challenge.

No Charge and I will not post or share your song with anyone after the job is done.

I'm very serious on trying to make my skills as good as the big guys.
I will not charge for any master until I and the artists feel my skill level is good enough.

Thanks
Joe

It's good to see that you're taking the initiative and trying to get some mastering experience under your belt, Joe.

Be sure to try to approach any local bands and tell them that you'll work cheaply (temporarily of course). Many bands and artists, especially younger ones, don't have the money to pay for professional mastering services. Many are even unsure of what mastering IS, let alone how much is reasonable to pay.

The chasm that used to divide pro mastering houses and the home studio is closing quickly (providing of course that you know what you're doing).

If you've got a decent room and and the gear, even a quick mastering job can help a cheapo home recording hugely! You could potentially save the entire project and become a hero for some younger artists who fumble around attempting to record their own projects at home.

The importance of a set of fresh, independent ears to a project cannot be underestimated.

Awesome idea, Joe. If you feel like doing this, i could give u some songs from a recent live recording. It's sort of a doom/death band and i have been working with that recording for quite a while, i would really appreciate a fresh opinion and suggestions regarding it...
