| Quality: 10 This little thing is pretty simple, but it's built very well from what I can tell. Good preamps, very flexible routing for a box this tiny, and my favorite feature, an actual MASTER VOLUME knob. Reliability: 10 Absolutely zero problems from day one. Painless install, and registration, up and running in no time. Overall Rating: 9 If you're on a limited budget, and need a little interface to get you up and running, this is a very good place to begin. The preamps are very workable. Even my electric DI'd into the Neutriks jacks sounds not horrible. the -20dB pad is useful, phantom power is always a plus, and the flexibility for routing is as good as one could hope for with an A/I this small. It runs like a champ of FW400 power, and just kind of sits there and does its job. The master volume knob is an awesome thing to have. Fortunately M Audio placed it down and to the right of the nearest knobs (headphone level) so twiddling without bumping into the other knobs is great. Also, the converters sound VERY good at this price point. I run my audio through a pair of ADAM A7's. The detail is fantastic. Add to that SPDIF jacks for external master word clock sync just in case you need that, and it's a done deal. Then again, if you're really using SPDIF for syncing to another word clock, you're probably way past this unit in terms of your studio setup. Still, always a good option. Like I said, if you're just starting out, and need a very good straight ahead interface, this is a wise choice. If you write a lot of stuff in your computer, and don't need a bunch of inputs, this is perfect. Folks with higher input needs will have to look elsewhere. |

Anyone used this with mac (macbook pro). Am thinking of ordering one as compared to Motu or RME have read quite a lot of reviews saying that for quality there is very little difference. The latency is under 10ms (which is fine for me). Anyone who has anything good or bad to say about the unit, I'd be very interested in hearing it

| Quality: 0 Wow, this sounds like the way to go for me since I don’t need that many inputs, need to run PT and Logic (learning both for school), and has decent sound quality. I was thinking about the 003 before, but I don’t need that may inputs, and there's not much difference between LE and M-Powered PT. Reliability: 0 Overall Rating: 0 |

Does any one know the interface makes a difference, when one is using it to run a preamp through its inputs? I have an maudio firewire solo, and i dont use the pre amp feature, instead i run a presonus eureka pre amp through its analog (unbalanced)inputs to connect a condenser mic for vocals. Im thinkin that if i upgrade, it wont make a difference since im not using the interface's preamp. Does the unbalaced input is really an issue? Are balanced imputs much better? If so, any information as to why would be helpful. Thanx
