Default M-Audio Profire 2626

I just bought this unit and would be using it right now but it came with the wrong power cable. I bought it because it seemed to very versatile: 8 i/0 xlr/TRS, 2 instrument mic pres, 20db pad on each channel, two headphone outs, master out volume, x2 adat/lightpipe (could use 16 extra I/O), S/PDIF, RCA, and word clock, midi.

Reasons for buying:
I had the Digi 002 factory with Protools 7.3 but wanted more functionality for using Logic Studio 8 which comes with Sound track pro 2.0 (I work on some post for video with 5.1 surround). The Profire 2626 lets me still work with Protools files via M-powered Protools for working on sessions from my band recordings and use my older LE files and Logic for midi and sound work and Sound Track for post more fully as well as BIAS Peak Pro. I wanted more xlr I/O than the 002 has, the Profire 2626 has an added bonus of being a standalone 8 input xlr/TRS pre amp (I have a 003 that I share with my band at our studio) This makes to our band at least as it is a really nice fix rather than buying another Multipre amp. The octane preamps were recommended by a friend. I will soon be using Nuendo 4 as well.

I loose the nice virtual faders from the 002 mixer but will replace that with the Euphonix MC control which I will have in my hot little hands soon. Anyway, I will do some recording with it once I get the and post my results for you guys to listen to.
