Thumbs up Re: Digidesign Mbox 2 Reviews

Quality: 7
Well, it's not built like a tank. It's plastic. But I've dropped it a few times, and it kept right on rolling with no problems.

As far as sound goes, it doesn't make any noise at all, but the preamps don't handle high gain settings that well. They start to audibly distort the signal.

As far as achieving what it's supposed to do, I'd say it does this 100%. It is a ProTools dongle, and that's it.

Reliability: 10
I've had this thing for almost two years and never had any problems. I mostly use it to do editing in ProTools on my laptop in a portable situation. Reliable, yes. Problems, no. It gets the job done.

Overall Rating: 8
I recommend this for ProTools users "on the go." For recording purposes, I definitely recommend getting an external preamp to use with it. I would definitely buy this thing again if I needed to.
