| Quality: 10 Just can't plain beat it. You get quality 57s and a quality 52 with the mounting hardware for an incredible price. I bought this to mic my studio drums. Still using this kit along with a 421 and 112. Reliability: 10 What else can you say about the Shure 52 and Shure SM 57? Overall Rating: 10 Buying these mics individually would cost considerably more than by buying it as a kit. I highly recommend it, even if you just need 3 57's, it's almost like have the 52 kicked (ok, bad pun) for free.

when i first got this, i was incredibly excited for the rim clips that come with it. however, you find yourself locked into undesirable mic positions quickly. i spent entirely too much time trying to get one situated as i needed it. also, having it clipped to the rim can create additional noise. one crappy artifact that i noticed was cap vibration when clipped to drum that was struck. putting it on a stand fixes all of those issues. i've been using a beta57 on snare top, and sometimes a 421 on the floor tom...so these 57's are ending up on guitar cabs, and they're perfectly happy there. rating this on a value, there are 3 pretty useless pieces of metal that you're paying for..but a beta52, 3x57s, and a nice carrying case are worth the $400 US i paid for it. |
