R0DE M3 Description
The RDE M3 is an extremely versatile, low-noise wide-response, small diaphragm cardioid condenser than can save your bacon in a number of ways. For example, say you show up to record a gig and there's not enough phantom powered inputs left for miking an acoustic guitar or drum overheads. No sweat. Just an M3 or two, some 9-volt batteries, and you're good to go. Of course, if phantom power is not an issue and you're just looking for an affordable studio mic for acoustic guitars, drum overheads, or percussive instruments that can capture the transients and highs with excellent sound quality, the M3 has got you covered.

An end-address condenser microphone, the RDE M3 features a heavy-duty metal body, category-leading low self-noise, three stage pad (O, -10db, -20db), a battery status LED and a high-pass filter.

The M3 microphone comes complete with windshield and stand mount, and can be powered via a 9V battery or 24-48V Phantom.

I'm amature, but the M3 has treated me really well.
Here's a clip of the M3 on a lot of different sources.
The sounds are completly un-mixed. (how punk.)

YouTube - Evolving Wall Animation

I'd say it'd be just fine for voice overs. I actually love it, compared a SM57 (with the bass knocked off) the M3 has allot better clarity. And voice can sound really crazy bass heavy on a mike, so this one has a little switch on it's front just to take off the bass.

Edit: I should probably mention, if you're working at my shitty level don't need any other gear except what you're recording onto and a lead to use it.

Windshield? Check.
Power? Check, it'll work without a damn preamp.
Attenuation Switch? Heck yes.

I also got this mic. My mate runs a music store so I got to try quite a few in this price range, and found this to be the most versatile of the bunch.

Good for voice, and excellent for acoustic guitar. You will also find this mic handy for guitar cabs and even on drums and other percussion. The 0/10/20db attenuation switch is a handy feature and uncommon in this price range.

Sounds like a more expensive mic to me. I will post some clips when I get a chance.

If you are looking for a workhorse at the right price, look no further, this baby is probably as versatile as a 57!!!

(also, I was surprised at the packaging this came in!!! What you would expect from a much more expensive piece of kit.)

Ok!

With the current rode promotion, I think there's going to be quite a few more m3 users in around; I'm grabbing another one and going to attempt some very basic capturing of live shows. I should have a clip up here in a couple of weeks.

Now give me compliments for the soundscape I made/linked earlier.
