Purchased this as a 3 pack on Musician's Friend for $25.00. Obviously, prior to purchase one questions the quality of this mic, however, it got good reviews by others regarding sound and quality, so I bit.

Mics arrived, and I immediately noted that they do indeed have a "quality" feel both in regards to weight, and solid feel.

I cannot complain about the sound as this mic seems to faithfull reproduce a realistic sound. It should be noted that I have no experience with other mics including sure SM57 or 58. However, I do have a Behringer XM8000 and the Nady SP-5's are not quite as "bright" as the Behringers, but that is one thing I like about them.

Reliability: 8
No problems so far, and I've had them for about 2 months. My 18 month old has worked over 1 of these and dropped it multiple times from about 18", and have had no problems.

For many of us who are not professonals, but who only want to record clear, faithful sounds, this is a great deal. After dropping about $600 on all the other recording gear, I had to "settle" for these mics - althought I really didn't "settle" because they turned out to work very well. I would give them a 10, but hold back only because of lack of comparitive experience.
