| Quality: 6 I purchased one to use for recording guitars. It is built fairly well. The sound is OK. It is not as crisp as an AT-4041. It requires EQ to make it sound good. It has a AA battery inside. Phantom power into this mike will destroy it. I think that it would be good for a camcorder. I wanted to use it in an audio studio setting and it failed. When recording guitars I use an AT-4041 and an AKG 414xls. Reliability: 8 This is a reliable microphone. AT has a long history of reliable microphone. I have never had one go bad. Overall Rating: 6 For a camcorder on a shock mount it would be good. The regular microphone mount is miserable. |
